Supporting Restaurant Highlight: Just Salad

Just Salad is a national leader in fast casual restaurant sustainability. They operate the largest container reuse system in the US, with 30% of customers reusing their bowls. This allows Just Salad to divert 75,000 pounds of plastic from landfills per year, the equivalent, in height, to 140 Empire State Buildings.

Just Salad’s goals going forward include: sending zero waste to landfills by 2022, creating a composting program at their 20+ NYC locations, and promoting reusable options wherever possible, favoring disposable packaging that is genuinely recyclable or compostable, sourced from renewable resources, and less carbon-intensive.
